Musik in d' Lüchterkark

Musik in d' Lüchterkark is a special concert experience under the motto "Folk meets Classic". Every year, the songs for winter and Christmas delight audiences with their extraordinary musical variety: from Christmas carols to well-known arias from opera and oratorio, from winter folk and Christmas folk songs from all over the world to rousing instrumental music - you can hear it all here.

Musik in d' Lüchterkark is a crossover project by the Frisian folk group LAWAY, with the global folk band LA KEJOCA, the Mexican lutenist Fernando Olivas and Borkum's singing mudflat guide Albertus Akkermann.

Laway

LAWAY is good handmade music from the land of the Frisians between Ems and Jade. Founded in 1979 by Gerd Brandt in Jever, the band has received several national awards, including the German Record Critics' Prize (1983), the "Menschen und Meer" festival in Rostock (1985) and the Bad Bevensen Culture Prize for the interpretation of Low German songs (2003).

Today, the group can boast one LP/MC and 15 CDs, some of which have won awards or been recognised by critics. In 2019, the opulent double album FÖR ALL DAT was released as a mediabook with the entire band history and complete discography to mark the 40th anniversary.

Collegium Frisia Vocalis

The vocal ensemble Collegium Frisia Vocalis was founded in 2013 as a project choir. It is largely made up of former members of the Banter Kantorei Wilhelmshaven choir, which is nationally renowned for its excellent vocal training and high musical standards, under the former direction of church music director Ingrid Sturm.

The musical director of the vocal ensemble is Wilhelmshaven-born Keno Brandt, himself a former singer in the Banter Kantorei and an organ student of Ingrid Sturm.

After studying church music and opera singing, Keno founded the Collegium Frisia Vocalis to continue Sturm's tradition of high-quality vocal and instrumental music in the region. The singers are regularly accompanied by instrumental soloists.
